Is Whited00r safe?

I had an iPhone 2g, that I installed whited00r on. It did NOT have the mms feature. It tended to get a bit hotter and drain the batter a bit faster, but not too badly. A couple weeks later, I spilled a TINY amount of water on my phone and the speaker dock, but I dried them up and all seemed well, until it charged for a bit, when it made a loud screech, and rebooted. It wouldn't boot right, and started overheating massivly, and wouldn't charge above 5%. The wifi wouldn't work, and it got hot enough to burn my finger when using it. I have read about whited00r causing overheating before, but is it safe? I am getting another 2g shortly.
If there is a better alternative to whited00r or redsn0w 3.1.3, could you tell me?
Thanks!

Buy a new iphone? 3g or 3gs are way better and you can pick them up for quite cheap

I have a 3g running whited00r and I love I've had no problems with the fw or over heating battery drain yes but it's not terrible.IMHO it's the best for 3g 3.1.3!
-side note I have had a couple boot loops and had to restore but only cause I was playing around in terminal and screwed up lol!
iPhone 3 16gb whited00r
iPhone 3gs 32gb 5.1.1 (Old Boot !)
iPhone 4 16gb 6.1.2 Evasi0n untethered (Main)
iPhone 4s 16gb 6.1.3 (boxed till JB is out!)
iPad 1 3G 32gb 5.1.1 RR untethered
The Thanks button you shall Hit,If I helped a little Bit!

Thanks. I figured that, but it was literally a couple droplets on the screen and the dock.
And the 2g (or possibly a 3g) is being given to me by a family member, while I have absolutely no money right now.

Overheating wtf? That's the hardware not Whited00r... lol

Battery drain... you could experience some compared to stock un-jailbroken, that's due to A) you are probably hacktivated More processes running in the background (mobile substrate) = more CPU load = more battery drain

If you want speed on an old device then you know what to use xD

battery issues will usually not be the firmware..
unless you install to many extras or the odd occasion apple screw up

you will probably need a new battery...

on the 2G device you will need some soldering skillz or find someone to do the job for you

3G and 3Gs should be a straight swap...

iPhone battery should be changed every year to maintain optimal performance

I had two iPhone 2Gs that I bought new batteries for off of fleabay and installed Whited00r and then gave them to the parents (In their 70s).
They are running great and it’s all that the parents need. I gave them a couple of older apps like solitaire, Seduco, etc. so they can keep themselves busy while in the doctor’s office. They are rock stars to their friends now.
I couldn't use them though, just too slow, no new apps available for ios3 anymore.
They sure were amazing in 2007 but unfortunately it’s over.
