iOS 5 iPad files? Please?
Hi all,
I am currently working on porting certain elements of the iPad software to the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4th Gen. Unfortunately while I have both of those devices for testing I do not have an iPad of my own, and the only iPad i have access to runs iOS4..
My question is this, would someone be able to make a copy of all the files of a freshly restored (to avoid personal details, music, etc.) iPad running iOS 5.0 Beta and give them to me? Via a download site, or a torrent. I would really appreciate it, and it would really help me with my project, unlike the iOS 4.3 files i currently have..
Really hope someone can help
Thanks guys!

Which version of iOS 5 beta firmware do you need?
Why don't you just extract the contents from the stock beta firmware instead? I could extract, and send it to you, but it would be a major download and upload.
For further info to extract, please read this thread USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED - SiNfuL iPhone.

Hint: Just search for "Geohot's wiki" without quotes via Google. All tools are on that site.

Once decrypted, use any file archiver (e.g. 7-zip) to unzip/extract.
1) Extract IPSW file using 7-zip
2) Decrypted largest DMG file with a Key
3) Extract decrypted DMG file using 7-zip
4) Extract largest "5.hfsx" file with 7-zip.
5) Enjoy your files.

Which version of 7-zip are you using? Did you associate file extensions .dmg and .hfs with 7-zip? 7-zip should extracts as I'm using it to extract all those dmg and hfs files.

Tested with a 5.0b1 ipsw, worked fine, im downloading a new ipsw.. thanks for the help it works great!
---------- EDIT ----------
Update: while the files extract fine, most of everything is unusable when the files are extracted in this way. Most of the important files are 0kb and contain no data.

Some of the plist files are build during the restoration process with firmware and device.
If you need those important plist files, you need to wait for a kind member to upload them for you. I don't have an iPad of my own too.
Perhaps you could specify the directory of files for them to upload.
