Help creating a deb?

Okay so I have created this deb for something but is there a way to backup files that it's replacing so when removing the deb it places the files back?

It requires replacing some quite important files and when removed your device goes into a respring loop :/

So any help would be welcome

Upload your files to mediafire, and tell me what is your current folder structure, and I'll see if I can build one for you.

Don't flatter me, I learned all my cracking stuffs from and in this forum. Seriously, there are lots of very good tutorials in this forum contributed by many Sinful members. All you need to do is to perform a deep search using the advanced search function, and you probably could find an answer to your problem after reading through all those threads. SinfulSS created a deb file for someone's request to create a deb file for his font, and I downloaded that deb to study.

Thanks Tom21, not sure if it's possible or not but here's the zip: iOS 5 Clock Hide.zip

It's a Clock and Date iOS 5 lockscreen hide, when installing the deb I want it to overwrite the files where they are in the iDevice. I've tried using it as a winterboard type theme but it doesn't work, the only way to make this work is by replacing the files.

So want I want it to do is, make some kind of backup of the original files then this installs, so when the deb is removed the original files get placed back. (Otherwise when the deb is removed the device has a respring loop)

Do you get me?

What is the directory path in the iphone for your actual files for replacement?

Never mind, I found it.

You want to backup LockClock.ttf from this directory.
Quote:
/System/Library/Fonts/Cache/
And this DateFormats.plist from this directory
Quote:
/var/mobile/Library/Caches/
And where shall I backup the files to? In the same folder or to another directory?

Possibly the same folder, not really bothered. As long as it can be restored and backed up from the deb

Could you try this deb file? I tested it via Terminal and iFile, and both times work. I didn't test uninstalling deb file through Cydia as Cydia wants to uninstall some of my cracked apps. I'm not gonna to let that happens. The scripts should work, if it doesn't works, probably an integration failure with Cydia variables (any expert wants to teach me?). Each file is backup to the same directory itself, search for LockClock.ttf.original and DateFormats.plist.original.

iOS5.0_Lockscreen_Hide.deb

NOTE: I'm gone for the day, and will be back tomorrow.
