cydia issue PLZ HELP!!!

HOW DO I UPDATE CYDIA????
ok i understand that there is an issue with cydia, i think i experienced it today, when i first open it up this first message pops up :
*ERROR DATABASE: could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (13 Permission denied)

and then i hit ok and then second message:
*ERROR:REFRESHING DATA: could not open lock file /var/lib/apt/list/lock - open(13 Permission denied)
then third:
*ERROR DATABASE: could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (13 Permission denied)
after that i cant even open cydia, just goes back to springboard.
i tried doing this....

Fix:
This is a simple fix really.

* Connect to your iphone/ipod via either ssh, mobile terminal, ifile, diskaid or some other type of usb file system browser. Browse to /var/lib/apt/lists/
* Delete cydia.zodttd-1.com_repo_cydia_dists_stable_main_binary-iphoneos-arm_Packages.
* Install the new update to cydia to fix this.

--------------But when it comes to the update cydia part im lost.

HOW DO I UPDATE CYDIA????

And try this if the two FIX wont work for youm here is the 3Rd one.

Navigate to the /var/lib/apt/lists/ folder. Delete the 3 x zodttd files
Navigate to /private/etc/apt/sources.list.d Delete the zodttd file

Then launch cydia.

Then install it again. here is the file you needed and how to install

install on Cydia Zodttd's source 0.4

Navigate to /private/etc/apt/sources.list.d & paste the file that you Downloaded.

I would give you my lock file but its 0kb so it's impossible to upload. If all else fails reinstall Cydia.

This is to update Cydia
Go to Mobile Terminal
Type: su
Type: yourpassword (alpine if you have not set one)
Type: apt-get update
All Cydia sources should be updated.

This to reinstall Cydia
Go to Mobile Terminal
Type: su
Type: yourpassword (alpine if you have not set one)
Type: apt-get remove cydia
Type: apt-get install cydia
Reboot

just put the 0kb file into a folder on your desktop with a picture or .txt file then .zip or .rar the folder and upload it. (this is just so u can upload the 0kb file... the picture or .txt file can just be discarded.

same problem but it says it on mobile terminal not cydia

read this

A faster way to install Cydia applications | iPhone World

install "‘Apt 0.7 Strict’." if you haven't already, you may or may not have to switch to 'hacker' to do so.

then you can start using apt-get

I don't understand how to use it with ssh but its also used for terminal

unlock as stated i.s type S U then password "alpine"

then type the command as you would

btw i'm just guessing all of this :P
I FAP THEREFORE i AM

So I was receiving a message on cydia while trying to download a source. It told me "Apt-get update so I went to Sinfuliphone.com and looked up what that was. I found a thread that told me to go to terminal and type apt-get remove cydia and apt-get install cydia. Now I can't open cydia. Please help. Thanks! Btw I'm sort of a noob so please be specific.
