Android-like Auto Correct Keyboard Bar Discovered In iOS 5; Step-By-Step Guide To Enable It Without

It looks like Panorama mode wasn't the only feature Apple has hidden in iOS 5.

iOS hacker Sonny Dickson has discovered an Android-like auto-correct keyboard bar hidden in iOS 5.

The feature can enabled easily without the need tojailbreak your iOS device by following these instructions courtesy 9 to 5 Mac:

1. Download iBackupBot

2. Backup your iPhone/iPod in iTunes

3. Open iBackupBot and find the backup, then load it.

4. Find Library/Preferences/com.apple.keyboard.plist and open the file. (if your software isn’t registered you’ll have to press cancel and then it will open)

5. Add in the following code: KeyboardAutocorrectionListsYES

6. Save your modifications, and then restore from backup from within iBackupbot.

We expect someone to release a tweak on Cydia that will make it very easy to enable the auto-correct keyboard bar for users who have jailbroken their iOS devices.
It is not clear why Apple decided to drop this feature in the final release, but it is possible that this will be one of the new features in iOS 5.1.

WARNING!!! DO NOT ATAMPT TO DO THAT!!!

1- It works but you have to select and confirm every single word and many times it will NOT give you the word that you are after

2- when you will try to remove the string and go back to the regular keyboard you wont be able to because the backup will be corrupted.

For those of you who are JB'd, there is now a tweak to accomplish this in Cydia.

Look up: Autocorrection Bar

I found it to be really annoying as well, you couldn't just type. . . You had to confirm every single word even if it was spelled correctly

Been using iDevices since the original iPhone, been jailbreaking them since the beginning, but since there's so much time in between jailreaks/new devices/tweaks to fool around with, I decided to take things to the next level... Instead of fooling around, I'm taking it apart and putting it back together ten times better...

iTools is what you need! iTunes is what you need to UNINSTALL!!! iTools does what iTunes does and a hell of a lot more... Don't just copy music TO your iDevice, copy your iDevice music to your computer. Also has some great features for jailbroken users!

When you click the iTools link above, look on the top right of the page for the "ENGLISH" button!

This sounds cool, but with 3.5" screen I really hope they make this an option and not mandate it. if they ever implement it. This would suck in landscape mode haha.
