so..according to applenberry..i cant update to IOS5 to keep the unlock with the ultra gevey...any idea if this works still with IOS 4?

i have 4.3.3 fw and 4.10.01 bb. jailbroken+unlocked.
any advice would be nice =)

You can unlock with gevey on iOS 5 preserve baseband it just won't be automatic

Oh ok. I guess i'll avoid the 5.0 since I reset so often =T.

I was wondering if you by any chance know how to get the facetime activated. i've searched the forum and have tried different things but it doesn't seem to work still. also, under phone number is says "unknown" and when i try to manually enter it it says "phone number cannot be saved". could this be the problem?

mms works fine.

First you have to be unlocked with gevey, then
you have to read the first page of this thread...

i know. but the problem was that it says ios 5..so i was wondering if it would work the same way and solve my "unknown" number problem on 4.3.3 as well as facetime. lol

also gevey and mms are all good =)

I don't have iOS 5, my iPhone 4 is on 4.3.3 Unlocked with Gevey Ultra and everything works just fine. The only problem I have is that Facetime would turn off by itself after reboots, maybe because how Gevey works. So, does this guide apply to my case ?

I am also wondering about the +011 trick, is it only for the USA ? I am in Egypt

I believe it will work for you as well. Just add 011 in front of what number in your plist is............

Im not sure about iOS 4, I never tested this on that firmware, but try it and post back if it works..

I was wondering, if I use airplane mode will I have to do the whole gevey unlock process again?

u need to be able to send out an text message so yes, u have to have it unlocked period..

and could someone upload and post their /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone/Unknown.bundle/carrier.plist backup file (the file they had before the tweak) for me so I can further do some more testing...

What I meant before was, once I've unlocked my phone with gevey, can I turn airplane mode on and off without losing my unlock?

thank you, and no you cant turn on airplane mode, if u do then you will have to re-unlock (ex: 112 process all over again)

No the guy asked if he can turn on airplane mode and still keep the phone unlocked and thats not true, well in my case, i did it and I had to do the 112 process all over again to get the unlock back.

With Original Gevey Ultra I can switch Airplane mode On and Off and I get signal instantly
