iPhone 4s web browser constantly crashing

Is anyone else having problems with web browsers crashing on 4s ios5.0? I'm having this happen a lot when scrolling down pages, I get half way through reading a page & it'll crash back to springboard. I thought it was a problem with safari so started using atomic web browser but still getting the same problem. I haven't got lots of apps open either so don't think it's a memory issue

Definitely not a memory problem, especially on a non-jailbroken device. I don't know what would cause it, though. So far I haven't had any problems with Safari or any other browser crashing. I'd say restore, but that's outta the question now that 5.0.1 is out and you won't be able to stay on 5.0 if you restore. Have you tried hard rebooting the phone?

same thing here took mine out the box open 3 new pages and it crashed sent the reports to GP a got stuck on the apple logo for 10 mins then another 4reports

mine is fine, tested on both wifi and 3G, maybe try to reset all network see if could help!!

Yeah, I've tried hard rebooting & still getting the problem very shortly after, not sure what else to do

Same on mine this past days. I think apple as something running on background to report back to them and we don't know it.

Mine is the same fucking thing. It keeps crashing all the times. At first I thought it was just safari then I downloaded atomic browser and guess what..., the same shit all over again. Hope the jailbreak comes out for iOS 5.1 because I want to upgrade but on the other hand I'm waiting for the jailbreak to come out.

This issue is starting to bug me too. Repeated crashes while scrolling down the page when say reading this sites posts.

If anyone identifies what causes this bug hit me up with a solution please.

Ditto...I've been having the same issue for over a month now, regardless of the browser. This shit is very annoying and bugs the shit out of me.

Haven't tried that. Will give it a go and report back.

I had wondered if there were any finger actions that are focused on closing the app when using it but I haven't noticed any pattern in my finger motion to the crashes unless it relates to an upward sliding fast motion.

Just tested Safari using safe mode and yep shut down on me again.

Same here...tested Safari as well as iCab Mobile and both have crashed randomly while in safe mode. Still unsure of what exactly is causing the crash...but I'm guessing it's RAM related. If anyone else has any other suggestions, please feel free.

Seems this was the same issue with the iPad and still exists. I'm gonna research solutions tonight but don't wanna mess around to much incase I screw up and then lose my jailbreak.

Well well well what have we here? I thought I was very very unlucky because of my safari crashes randomly. In a way it's good to know I ain't the only one with theses issues.

I also tried several browser like opera, sky fire and yesterday I also tried icab mobile and guess what??? Still the same random crash.

Sometimes I manage to reply without any hitch but most if the it takes at least 3 goes before I can finish typing.

What I do know is type in Notes first then paste it here.

Hope they find a solution soon. Maybe 5.1 has the safari fix but hell no, I ain't testing it for you guys

Could be that safe/private/fraud/ browsing and block pop-ups features (caches or whatever) but I'm not sure. Try clearing your browser's cache and history and remove websites' data while you're at it.

this is happening to none jail broken 4s iphone also
there are many posts about the problem
my 4s also crash
the most annouying thing is you can not just open safari back up to the page it crashed on
so if your reading a thread on forum you have to find your way back to it
quite dissapointed with 4s to be honest had it 10 days now
mainly any siri search and no uk maps!
then no shsh restore
waiting longer for jailbreaks
tends to use alot more ram
anybody thinking of upgrading your 4 to a 4s dont is my advise

only noticable differance is speed
does the proformance out weigh above problems?

Have asked the guys who have already reported that they have upgraded to 5.1 by mistake in another post to report back on this issue. Lets hope they see it. Then maybe we can upgrade to a more stable OS prior to the jailbreak coming out in the future..... Nah think I will wait on that one.

I been having the same problem.. Safari has been crashing a lot, mostly when I search for things using google for examle. Allso my facebook app crashes now and then but not like safari

tried every thing I can think of to get it to stop chrashing but no luck. Thankful for any help that can help solving this.

Actually I Dont have this crashing problem like you guys...and I just got my 4S 2 days ago already modded with my previous backup n JB...

Try the crash reporter and see why its crashing....

Moreover, i think its the MobileSubstrate issue.

But I can't be sure, its weird that its crashing with you guys...

All I can think of is they way you jailbroke your device.

Absinthe ver. 1.4 is the latest so at that time wen you jailbroke it maybe it was an older version somthin didnt got patched...

Also I have also deleted the OTA demons, look into that so that ur devices do not accidentally update overnite....
