iFaith only saves the Blobs for the iOS you are currently on. Of the blobs u are talking about saved with Tiny Umbrella, then you cannot use them blobs. So if you ate on 4.3.3. I recommend that you use ifaith to save your 4.3.3 blobs. iFaith version 1.4 supports 4.3.3. Then you will have to update to 5.0.1 and save them blobs. And hurry up and do cus you don't when apple will stop signing 5.0.1. So unless you used iFaith to save blobs when your phone was on iOS 5, then you cannot upgrade to iOS 5. You can only restore to 4.3.3 and 5.0.1. Only after you used iFaith to save the SHSH for what your device was currently running.

Well you can do just that. Restore to your custom 5.0.1 Ipsw. And then save your blobs. Just remember to use iReb from iFaith before restoring. What I would do personally , is use Sn0wbreeze and build a custom Ipsw. That is the most stable way to do it. RedSn0w CFW thing is in beta, but Sn0wbreeze got it down. An you don't have to have it jailbroken, you can choose to restore to 5.0.1 stalk, without baseband updating. Or you can choose to have it jailbroken during the restore process, and just boot tethered via iBooty which is extracted to your desk top rite after running Sn0wBreeze. I truly think your best choice would be to use Sn0wBreeze v2.8b11. Choose restore without updating baseband, or I think it's called "baseband preservation mode" which doesn't JB I believe, but it only doesn't jailbreak it if you choose that mode. Sn0wbreeze will not update baseband no matter which settings you choose. So either way your good. It doesn't take that long, and you if you already have the 5.0.1 Ipsw then I recommend you get Sn0wbreeze and do this now. Just can't go wrong. Solid.

mate use snowbreeze to create a custom 5.0.1 fw to preserve your baseband, redsnow won't create a custom fw!! then update to your snowbreeze custom 5.0.1 fw using itunes, then use ifaith to dump your 5.0.1 shsh blobs, use ifaith again to sign a custom 5.0.1 fw with those shsh blobs and you should always be able to restore to your 'custom/signed 5.0.1 fw'

and if ever i get to update im definitely going to dump my 5.0.1 using iFaith as well... now back to the problem 1600.. i did read about the problem. and tried to put it to DFU mode and some other things. but still i get an error.. what seems to be thing im not doing?

Yeah man. He's rite. You need Sn0wbreeze. Download it ASAP. As for 1600 error, open up Sn0wbrreze or iFaith. Doesn't matter which one. Look for a iReb in Sn0wbreeze it's in the top Kelley corner. In iFaith it's the box on the lower rite side. Open up iReb then follow directions exactly. You cannot just enter DFU mode and restore with CFW. It has to be iReb DFU PWNer.

just one concern... do you happen to know the reason about the pineapple stuck? and tethered boot didn't work... that was my problem when i was in ios5.0 thats why i reverted to 4.3.3.

Just used iFaith to save my iOS 5.0 blobs, then did an upgrade to stock iOS 5.0.1.

Held my breath and created a custom firmware using my iFaith 5.0 blobs, put my iPhone 4 into Pwnd DFU mode using iReb, then shift-clicked restore in iTunes and chose my custom iFaith firmware, and crossed my fingers.

PERFECT!

I now have a freshly-restored stock iOS 5.0 AFTER restoring to iOS 5.0.1

Thanks iFaith! Awesome work team!

Oh and """"""DO NOT RUN TSS SERVER IN TIMY UNBRELLA!!!!!!!!!DO NOT MODIFY YOU HOST FILE!!!!!!!!! This will only stop the restore process from working. That is only for restoring to stalk firmware with tiny umbrella SHSH blobs. Which are useless in ios 5. If you modified got host file, change it back.
