iPad mini released | What you need to know |
|
Oct 23, 2012 - 12:52 PM - by D3xus

Until very recently, the iPad mini has been the stuff of legend. Bigfoot, lost-city-of-Atlantis, unicorn style legend. But no more — the iPad mini is finally real, as CEO Tim Cook has unveiled the slightly smaller Apple tablet on stage.
The iPad mini, the long-rumored smaller tablet from Apple, has made its debut.
Apple launched the 7.9-inch tablet computer at an invitation-only media event Tuesday morning, telling a crowd of reporters that the device is as thin as a pencil and weighs .68 pounds. Price for the iPad mini starts at $329.
"It's as light as a pad of paper," said Apple's marketing chief Phil Schiller.
Rumors have swirled for months that Apple was designing a competitor to Amazon.com's Kindle Fire HD and the Google Nexus 7, smaller and... [Read More]

Remembering Steve Jobs : 1955 - 2011 |
|
Oct 05, 2012 - 2:15 PM - by (-SiNfulSS-)
|

Today marks the solemn one year anniversary of Steve Jobs' passing at the age of 56.
To honor the man who co-founded Apple and changed technology forever, Apple CEO Tim Cook published an open letter to the Apple community today on the company's official website.
"Steve's passing one year ago today was a sad and difficult time for all of us," said Cook in the letter. "I hope that today everyone will reflect on his extraordinary life and the many ways he made the world a better place."
I said it a year ago and I'll say it again, there are far worse people I would rather see dead than Steve Jobs. I think without Steve Jobs Apple has turned into Crapple! I think with all the current issues coming from Crapple we're really starting to see the effects of Apple losing their Shot Caller ... [Read More]

|
Sep 19, 2012 - 9:51 AM - by AppleHacker
|
As expected, Apple has just released iOS 6 to the public, making the download available to users of recent iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch models. Users can obtain the update either by connecting their devices to iTunes and clicking the "Check for Update" button or checking for over-the-air updates on their devices via Settings -> General -> Software Update. It may, however, take a few minutes for the update to propagate to all users.
iOS 6 adds over 200 new features, including Apple's own Maps app, Facebook integration, Siri improvements, Apple's new Passbook ... [Read More]

After quite a delay... 6.0b and GM support
Sorry for the delay folks... with funerals and travel and changing jobs I've had quite the summer. I've updated TU for apple tv 5.0.2 (sorry for the wait!) as well as all of the iOS 6 betas. I've had to change the way the OSX app is packaged. No more installer for now as Gatekeeper sucks more than taxes.
So now it is a simple zip but you will have to give your admin password at the first launch (it shouldn't ask for it again after first launch).
Hope it helps!

Its that time again. The kids are heading back to school. The leaves are beginning to change colors. And Apple is ready to unveil the next iPhone.
While not all is known about this next iPhone, a few details seem all but assured, including a larger screen, new dock connector and support for faster LTE cellular networks. Apple has also shown off iOS 6 the new software that will power the new phone. Among its features are improvements to Siri, Apple-created mapping software and integration with Facebook.
Expectations are running high, with analysts predicting that whatever Apple introduces will generate record sales and perhaps even give a meaningful boost to the overall U.S. economic output.
To find out the remaining details, youll want to come back for our live coverage once the event gets under way around 10... [Read More]

***UPDATE 1***
Baseband Freedom
Happy 4th of July! Today’s release of redsn0w 0.9.14b2 improves the iPad baseband downgrade and should cover anyone who couldn’t downgrade with 0.9.14b1. This version covers 3 different types of NOR chips in the iPhone 3G and 3GS (the earlier version covered only the most prevalent NOR chip). We’ve also simplified the process and added logging to help diagnose any remaining stubborn iPhones.
