Update on iOS 4.1 Jailbreak for iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, iPod touch and iPad |
|
Sep 05, 2010 - 9:56 AM - by WIDOW
|
Next week, Apple will roll-out the new iOS 4.1 firmware for iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, iPad and iPod touch. This new firmware like iOS 4.0.2 will require another exploit for jailbreak as the loophole which was found in iOS 4.0.1 was quickly fixed by Apple in iOS 4.0.2. Comex will be on it once Apple releases the firmware to public early next week.

The question is, what kind of exploit is going to be used to jailbreak iOS 4.1? Is it going to be a another userland exploit like Spirit or JailbreakMe, or are they going to release bootrom exploit like Blackra1n which will last longer than the userland exploit before Apple patches it. The iPhone Dev-Team member MuscleNerd confirmed today that Comex is first going to give userland jailbreak a go via something he mentions as “trifecta”. If... [Read More]

Apple to Drop iOS 4.1 on September 8. Jailbreakers and Unlockers Should Stay Away Until New Tools Are Available
The official UK website of Apple has this confirmation up on the site that iOS 4.1 for iPhone and iPod touches will drop on Wednesday, September 8th. This is probably the same day when the new iPod lineup for fall 2010 (iPod nano, iPod shuffle and iPod touch 4G) will also go retail.

f your iOS device relies on a jailbreak or a carrier unlock, make sure you keep your “clicky” fingers away from that tempting “Update” button in iTunes until and unless new jailbreak and unlock tools are available. There is currently no ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) as to when can we expect these new tools to be made available. But I am... [Read More]

|
Sep 02, 2010 - 5:18 AM - by howard1
|

As you know, Apple introduced today iTunes 10. During the keynote I tweeted, saying that all jailbreakers and unlockers shouldnt updated right now. And everybody was asking why. The answer is simple: once your are jailbroken, you never update to new releases until the iCommunity gives you a green light. Fortunately, iTunes 10 is safe for all jailbreakers and unlockers ( DFU mode, syncing, selecting IPSW, all okay ), and it comes with the following changes:

2:08 p.m.: On the back of the new smaller Apple TV are power, HDMI and Ethernet ports as well as built-in Wi-Fi. It has an... [Read More]

Downgrade Myth: Busted |

Aug 31, 2010 - 7:23 AM - by Mast3rShan3

Quote:
There is much discussion on many blogs about a potential means of downgrading iOS 4.0.2 to 4.0.1 by simply changing a couple values in the buildmanifest.plist and copying all of the images from 4.0.1 into 4.0.2 and then deleting the files ending with 002. Following all of this, perform a DFU restore and somehow you will be on 4.0.1.
There is a perfectly logical explanation for all of this and I will lay out exactly what is happening and explain why it is working for the folks that are the lucky ones.

Anyways, once it get's authorized and what not, I will post the video on here with the winners.
For now, to ease a little of the suspense, a hint on the winners for the iPhone 4's . Both users got the iPhone for $10 and $5. Names to be revealed as soon as the video is posted!
